Funding for Faculty & Graduate Student Research

In an effort to foster a greater understanding of international relations, as well as the more general sources of conflict in the international system, the Browne Center awards research grants to Penn faculty and advanced graduate students on a rolling basis.

Faculty may apply alone or with graduate student co-authors, provided that the co-authors are enrolled in a graduate degree-granting program at the University. There are no restrictions on the nationality of applicants and projects are encouraged for research at any location, according to the demands of the project proposal. The size of the award varies based on the needs of the project and the resources of the Center during any application period. Faculty grants generally do not exceed $5,000. Student grants do not generally exceed $3,000.
